Colorado Canine COOP members are volunteers!_______
SAR dog handlers are professional volunteers.  They maintain the same standards as do your police canine units for training.  There are some law enforcement canine teams that can be utilized, they are the only paid teams and are made available through a mutual aid request.  So the cost is FREE.

These volunteers pay for their own gas and transportation, they pay to feed their own dogs and training.  If your agency is able to reimburse the SAR dog teams for gas or lodging is appreciated but not necessary.
